Falcons DT Grady Jarrett (ACL) done for season

Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl defensive tackle Grady Jarrett tore his ACL during Sunday’s game and will miss the rest of the season, coach Arthur Smith confirmed Monday afternoon.

An MRI revealed the damage Monday, per ESPN and NFL Network reports.

“To lose a guy like Grady, who’s such a great leader for us, a great player… it’s unfortunate, and it’s not going to take just one person to (replace him),” Smith said. “We’ll continue to problem solve and we’ll continue to evaluate that, but I hate it for Grady, first and foremost.”

Jarrett was injured on the fourth defensive play of the game during Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans.

In a corresponding move Monday, the Falcons acquired defensive lineman Kentavius Street and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round selection.

Jarrett, 30, had 23 tackles, 1.5 sacks and eight quarterback hits in eight starts this season. Jarrett has started every game he has played in for the Falcons going back to the 2017 season. The native of Conyers, Ga., earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and 2020.

Jarrett has 443 tackles, 34 sacks, five forced fumbles and 68 tackles for loss in 135 career games (120 starts) since the Falcons selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Clemson.

He has been remarkably durable, missing only three games in his career — one in 2015 and two in 2018.

Street, 27, was in his first season in Philadelphia after signing as a free agent and played in eight games (one start), making four tackles.

He attended Coffee High School in Douglas, Ga., before playing at NC State. The San Francisco 49ers made him a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft. He has played a total of 60 games (five starts) for the 49ers (2019-21), New Orleans Saints (2022) and Eagles, totaling 75 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 6 1/2 sacks.
