Eagles WR Jackson, RB Sproles to practice this week

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson and running back Darren Sproles are expected to return to practice this week, coach Doug Pederson announced Monday.

Jackson has been sidelined since Week 2 with an abdominal injury while Sproles has been plagued by an ailing quadriceps since the Eagles’ 31-6 victory over the New York Jets on Oct. 6.

“DeSean as part of his rehab and his protocol, we can incorporate him back into practice a little bit on Wednesday and see where he’s at as the week progresses,” Pederson said.

“And Darren Sproles, kind of the same way as he continues to rehab and get healthy, we can incorporate him a little bit this week and see where he is at week’s end.”

Jackson was injured in the first half of Philadelphia’s 24-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 15. The 32-year-old did not make a catch in that game after snagging eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns in the season-opening victory over the Washington Redskins.

The Eagles brought back Jackson via trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March. A second-round pick by Philadelphia in 2008, Jackson spent six years with the Eagles (2008-13), catching 356 passes for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns in 87 games.

Sproles, 36, has 15 carries for 59 yards and five receptions for 21 yards in five games this season.
