Eagles rule out Agholor, Barnett, Howard for Sunday vs. Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles ruled out wide receiver Nelson Agholor (knee), defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle) and running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) for Sunday’ game at Washington, the team announced Saturday.

Agholor, who has missed two of the last three contests after injuring his right knee, sat out practice all this week, as did Barnett. Howard will miss his fifth game in a row since first getting hurt in Week 9.

“I’m in a position right now where it’s kind of a stalemate,” Agholor, 26, said earlier this week. “It’s taking its course. It’s getting better.”

On Wednesday, Agholor revealed his injury actually dates back to Week 6 against Minnesota on Oct. 13. About a month later against New England, he aggravated the injury during a play in the back of the end zone late in the game.

With Alshon Jeffery out for the season, the Eagles are left with just three true wide receivers active for Sunday: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward and Robert Davis.

Despite a slew of injuries, the Eagles are 6-7 and tied for first place with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East. The Redskins (3-10) have won two of their last three games.
