Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Monday he was hopeful wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will play Thursday night at the Green Bay Packers.
Jeffery missed Sunday’s 27-24 home loss to Detroit after injuring his left calf in a Week 2 defeat at Atlanta, where fellow receiver DeSean Jackson also was hurt.
“I’m hoping that (Jeffery’s) ready to go,” Pederson told reporters Monday. “We’ll see this week. We’ve got a couple days. Walk-through later today, we’ll get the guys in here. We’re hoping he’s ready to go.”
Jackson (abdomen) remains sidelined after missing Sunday’s loss to the Lions.
Pederson said he did not have an update on cornerback Ronald Darby, who left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. If Darby is out for Green Bay, the Eagles would be down to three healthy corners — Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox.
If Darby can’t go, the Eagles could elevate Craig James from the practice squad or bring back Orlando Scandrick, a veteran free agent who took part in Philadelphia’s training camp.
First-round pick Andre Dillard injured his knee in Sunday’s game after replacing left tackle Jason Peters, who exited after just five plays. Peters, whom Pederson said suffered “a little nausea,” returned later in the game.
As for the rookie, Pederson said: “Dillard is OK. Dillard’s fine.”
