Dodgers activate LHP Julio Urias (calf) to start vs. Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-hander Julio Urias from the 10-day injured list to start Tuesday’s game against the host San Diego Padres.

The 25-year-old Urias was sidelined due to a bruised left calf that he sustained on Aug. 13 against the New York Mets. He was trying to bunt in the fourth inning but New York right-hander Tylor Megill hit him in the calf. Urias exited after the fifth inning.

Urias (13-3, 3.29 ERA) is tied for second in the majors in victories with teammate Walker Buehler, one behind Kyle Hendricks of the Chicago Cubs.

Urias has struck out 149 batters in 139 2/3 innings over 24 starts this season.

This marks Urias’ second start of the season against the Padres. He took the loss on June 21 when he gave up six runs and six hits in four innings at San Diego.

Los Angeles designated right-handed reliever Neftali Feliz for assignment in a corresponding move. Feliz, 33, pitched a perfect inning of relief in Sunday’s loss to the Mets in his lone outing for the Dodgers.
