Colts LB Leonard to miss second consecutive game

Indianapolis Colts standout linebacker Darius Leonard will miss his second straight game due to a concussion, coach Frank Reich told reporters on Friday.

Leonard began feeling concussion symptoms after the Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans and was placed in the NFL protocol. He missed last week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and sat out the entire week of practices leading up to Sunday’s contest against the Oakland Raiders.

Leonard had 17 tackles and one sack in the Colts’ first two games. He earned All-Pro honors last season as a rookie when he compiled an NFL-best 163 tackles, along with seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Reich said safety Malik Hooker (knee) and defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (ankle) will also miss the game.

The status of receiver T.Y. Hilton is unclear as the Colts haven’t yet released their injury report. Hilton (quadriceps) was injured in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hilton has 20 receptions for 195 yards and four touchdowns. The scoring receptions tie for the NFL lead with Atlanta’s Julio Jones and Dallas’ Amari Cooper.
