Indianapolis Colts standout linebacker Darius Leonard will miss his second straight game due to a concussion, coach Frank Reich told reporters on Friday.
In addition, star receiver T.Y. Hilton (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. Hilton hasn’t practiced all week.
Leonard began feeling concussion symptoms after the Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans and was placed in the NFL protocol. He missed last week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and sat out the entire week of practices leading up to Sunday’s contest against the Raiders.
Leonard had 17 tackles and one sack in the Colts’ first two games. He earned All-Pro honors last season as a rookie when he compiled an NFL-best 163 tackles, along with seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.
Reich said safety Malik Hooker (knee) and defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (ankle) will also miss the game.
Hilton re-aggravated a quadriceps injury in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Hilton has 20 receptions for 195 yards and four touchdowns. The scoring receptions tie for the NFL lead with Atlanta’s Julio Jones and Dallas’ Amari Cooper.
A possible ominous sign per Hilton’s availability was that the Colts elevated rookie receiver Ashton Dulin from the practice squad on Friday afternoon. The team waived cornerback Ryan Lewis to clear the roster spot.
Defensive end Jabaal Sheard (knee), cornerback Pierre Desir (hamstring) and defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad (neck) are questionable.
