Colts DT DeForest Buckner active, to play vs. Jaguars

All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner will play for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in Jacksonville after missing practice this week because of a knee injury.

He was listed as questionable to play against the Jaguars but the team announced Sunday morning that he would be active.

Buckner, 27, has started all 16 games this season for the Colts. He has 65 tackles (nine for loss), 18 quarterback hits and seven sacks. In 94 career games (93 starts) with the San Francisco 49ers (2016-19) and Colts, he has 386 tackles (57 for loss), 118 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and 45 sacks.

The Colts (9-7) will advance to the playoffs as a wild card with a win against the Jaguars (2-14). The Colts are on a six-game losing streak in Jacksonville, last beating their AFC South foe there in 2014.

With a loss, the Colts will need a lot of help from other teams to qualify for the playoffs.

Inactive for the Colts are cornerback Xavier Rhodes, defensive end Ben Banogu, tackle Julien Davenport, guard/tackle Will Fries, running back Marlon Mack, and wide receivers Dezmon Patmon and Mike Strachan.
