Chiefs WR Hill, RB Williams return to practice

The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense got two key players back at practice on Wednesday, as wide receiver Tyreek Hill and running back Damien Williams were both present.

Hill, who hadn’t practiced since injuring his collarbone in Week 1 at Jacksonville, got in a limited session. Williams, who hurt his knee in Week 2 and hadn’t practiced since, was a full participant on Wednesday. Head coach Andy Reid declined to commit to either player returning Sunday night, when the Chiefs host the Colts.

Reports originally gave Hill a timetable of 6-to-8 weeks for a return, but he was seen out of his sling and dribbling a basketball at the Chiefs’ facility two weeks ago.

The 25-year-old had two catches for 16 yards in the opener before getting hurt. Last season, he had 87 catches for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors.

Williams, 27, struggled through two games this season, posting 34 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries (1.5 average), along with nine catches for 87 yards. He took over as the starter last season after the release of Kareem Hunt, breaking out with a four-touchdown game in the AFC Championship Game loss to the New England Patriots.

Left tackle Eric Fisher (groin) remained sidelined at Wednesday’s practice, along with linebacker Dorian O’Daniel (hamstring). Running back LeSean McCoy (ankle) and defensive end Alex Okafor (hip) were limited.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains on the injury report with an ankle issue sustained in Week 1, but he has been a full participant in every practice since and has not missed a snap of a game.
