Cardinals DT Peters (knee) out for season

Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Corey Peters will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, coach Kliff Kingsbury announced Wednesday morning.

Peters was carted off the field during the first half of Arizona’s 32-30 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said the team will miss Peters’ leadership.

“Corey kind of pulled the guys together and got them back on track,” Joseph said. “He is the veteran in the room who is the calming voice, in addition to playing really good football this year and last year for us. He’s going to be missed.

“That’s a big loss for us. But we have guys waiting to step in.”

Peters, 32, recorded 15 tackles and two sacks in nine games this season for the Cardinals (6-3), who visit the Seattle Seahawks (6-3) on Thursday (8:20 p.m. ET).

Peters has collected 292 tackles and 19 sacks in 138 career games with the Atlanta Falcons (2010-14) and Cardinals.

Trevon Coley, Josh Mauro and Angelo Blackson may see additional playing time in Peters’ absence. Jordan Phillips is nursing a hamstring injury for the Cardinals.
