St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina exited Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds in the fourth inning with a left knee contusion.
Molina, 38, was hit in the knee by a foul ball in the top of the inning. The nine-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove recipient briefly stayed in the game before being replaced in the bottom of the inning by pinch-hitter Andrew Knizner, who flied out to right field.
Molina, who struck out in his lone plate appearance, is batting .277 with seven homers and 27 RBIs in 41 games this season.
