The Cleveland Browns announced the signing of former UFL running back Toa Taua on Monday.
Taua, 25, spent the past two seasons with the Michigan Panthers and led the UFL with six rushing touchdowns in 2025.
He rushed 81 times for 356 yards and added 76 receiving yards in seven games (four starts) with the Panthers this past season.
The 5-foot-9, 215-pound Taua went undrafted in 2023 out of Nevada, where he rushed for 3,995 yards and 33 TDs and caught 163 passes for 1,192 yards and four scores in 59 games from 2018-22.
Cleveland’s backfield depth chart behind starter Jerome Ford includes 2025 draft picks Quinshon Judkins (second round) and Dylan Sampson (fourth round) and veteran Pierre Strong Jr.
