Denver Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb departed Sunday’s 23-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with an ankle injury.
Chubb was questionable for the contest after missing the season opener against the New York Giants.
He aggravated the same ankle in the second quarter and exited the game. He had one tackle.
Broncos star linebacker Von Miller was disappointed to see Chubb leave the game.
“It (stinks) because Bradley’s been doing everything he possibly can to play,” Miller said afterward. “If it was anybody but him wearing No. 55, they probably would have sat out the game. To see him get to a point where he’s ready to play and then he gets hurt, it’s tough.”
Sunday’s game marked the first time Miller and Chubb played in the same game since Sept. 29, 2019, when Chubb tore his left ACL — coincidentally against the Jaguars.
Chubb missed that rest of the season and Miller missed the entire 2020 campaign due to a severe ankle injury.
Broncos linebacker Josey Jewell (shoulder) also missed the second half after being injured. Jewell made three tackles, two for losses.
