Braves to add RHP Walker to bullpen

The Atlanta Braves are expected to give right-hander Jeremy Walker his first crack at pitching in the major leagues, according to MLB.com.

A fifth-round selection in the 2016 MLB Draft, Walker is expected to be activated and in the bullpen when the Braves host the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

Walker, 24, is a combined 2-6 with a 2.84 ERA this season at Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. He will take the roster spot of right-hander Wes Parsons, who was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett late Tuesday. Parsons, 26, was 1-2 with a 3.52 ERA out of the bullpen for the Braves this season.
