Braves OF Ronald Acuna Jr. leaves game after HBP

Atlanta Braves right fielder and leadoff hitter Ronald Acuna Jr. left the nightcap of Monday’s doubleheader in the first inning after taking a fastball off the left shoulder blade.

Acuna was hit by a 93-mph fastball from New York Mets starter Tylor Megill on an 0-2 pitch. He was replaced in the lineup by Kevin Pillar.

Braves pitchers plunked the Mets three times in the opener, a 9-8 win by the Braves. Acuna went 3-for-5 in Game 1, including a 448-foot monster shot that landed in the upper deck in left-center field.

Acuna is batting .363 with five home runs and 26 runs so far this season.
