Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman was removed from the Braves’ Friday road game against the Washington Nationals due to right elbow soreness.
The Braves announced that it was a precautionary move.
Freeman flied out and struck out in the game before he was replaced in the field by Charlie Culbertson in the fourth inning.
Freeman is batting .302 with 38 homers and 117 RBIs this season.
