The Oakland Athletics on Friday placed designated hitter Khris Davis on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 22, because of a left hip/oblique injury.
In a corresponding move, they recalled outfielder Skye Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Davis sustained the injury in Pittsburgh on May 5 and has been in and out of the lineup, playing in seven of the 15 games since then.
The seven-year veteran led the majors with 48 home runs last season and is hitting .248 with 12 homers and 29 RBIs this season. He’s a career .248 hitter with 205 homers and 526 RBIs in 818 games.
Bolt, 25, made his major league debut with the A’s during three games in Pittsburgh from May 3-5. He was sent back to Las Vegas on May 7 and is batting .311 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 34 games in Triple-A.
