Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman has tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to a statement from the school, Pittman was tested on Sunday and received the results on Monday morning.
He is not experiencing any symptoms and is in self-isolation pending the results of a second COVID-19 test administered Monday.
“All individuals who are considered close contacts have been notified and will enter quarantine guidelines,” read the statement. “Coach Pittman will follow the SEC’s Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force protocol for testing asymptomatic positives.”
Pittman, 58, will participate virtually in team meetings while in isolation.
Associate head coach and defensive coordinator Barry Odom will serve as interim head coach as the Razorbacks (3-3, 3-3 SEC) prepare for Saturday’s game against No. 6 Florida (4-1, 4-1) in Gainesville, Fla.
Arkansas scored the game’s final 24 points to defeat Tennessee, 24-13, on Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
