For at least one night, ABC will air “ESPN Sunday Night Baseball” when the White Sox and Cubs meet in Chicago in the Crosstown Cup series on Aug. 8.
The 7 p.m. ET game represents the first time ABC will air a Sunday night game exclusively.
It will be the finale of a three-game series at Wrigley Field between the teams. The White Sox currently are in first place in the American League Central, with the Cubs nine games back in the National League Central entering play Wednesday.
Matt Vasgersian will handle the play by play, with Alex Rodriguez the analyst and Buster Olney the reporter.
In 2020, ABC televised its first postseason game since 1995 during the wild-card series.
