Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was ruled out by the 49ers after exiting Sunday’s game against the host Cleveland Browns due to a shoulder injury, and he wasn’t the only concern for San Francisco.
49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, the NFL’s leading rusher entering Week 6, was deemed questionable to return in the fourth quarter with an oblique injury.
Samuel played San Francisco’s first two series, but he was then taken to the medical tent before heading back to the locker room.
Prior to exiting, Samuel was targeted once without a catch. He added a pair of carries for 11 yards.
McCaffrey caught a TD pass in the first half and had 11 carries for 43 yards with three receptions for nine yards before exiting the game.
He entered Week 6 with an NFL-best 510 rushing yards.
Samuel, 27, entered Sunday with 20 receptions for 302 yards and a touchdown through five games this season. He also had 84 rushing yards and a score.
