Cincinnati Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto will go on the disabled list with a lat strain, Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com reported.
Cueto left Saturday’s game in the fifth inning with an apparent triceps injury. After he was evaluated by team doctors Sunday, the Reds decided to put their ace on the DL.
Cueto is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA this season.
As a result, the Reds may call up prospect Tony Cingrani, who is currently with Triple-A Louisville.
