X-rays of Robert Griffin III’s injured ribs on Sunday were negative, indicating the Redskins rookie quarterback suffered no fractures, the Washington Post reported.
Griffin will have two weeks to recover, because the Redskins have a bye this week, and don’t play again until Nov. 18 against the Eagles.
Griffin was hit while dropping back to pass early in Sunday’s loss to Carolina. He got up slowly, but remained in the game.
He took another hard hit in the fourth quarter but did not seem affected by that blow.
He was taken for X-rays immediately after the game, but Griffin and coach Mike Shanahan said Griffin merely has sore ribs and that he did not suffer any broken bones.
“I’m fine. I’ll be ready to go,” Griffin said after the game, according to the Post. “No one is ever going to question the fight I have inside myself to be the greatest and to help this team to victory. It doesn’t matter what it is, I will make sure that I continue to help my team win games and that it starts right after the bye.”
