Washington Wizards guard John Wall said Monday he will not have offseason surgery on his broken left hand and wrist. Instead, Wall said he will take time off and let the five nondisplaced fractures heal on their own.
The All-Star was injured in the second quarter of the Wizards’ Game 1 win over Atlanta in their recently concluded playoff series.
Wall fell on his left wrist while trying to avoid Hawks’ guard Jeff Teague on a breakaway. He missed the next three games of the series, but returned for the final two and played well.
“I’m going to (the) Cleveland (Clinic) to see a specialist,” Wall said Monday. “But I’m still just doing a normal treatment routine (that) I was doing, like I was playing. Just consists of a lot of treatment and trying to keep the swelling down and letting the bone heal on its own.”
