Right-handed pitcher Daniel Webb was recalled from Class AAA Charlotte as the 26th player for the Chicago White Sox on Thursday before a doubleheader with the Baltimore Orioles.
The games were cancelled at Camden Yards during protests in the city and near the ballpark earlier this month.
Webb, 25, previously served as the 26th player for the White Sox on April 26 vs. Kansas City but did not pitch. He is 1-1 with a 4.01 ERA, two saves, 21 strikeouts and a .237 opponents’ average over 15 games with Charlotte this season. Webb has worked two or more innings eight times and is limiting right-handers to a .229 mark (11-48).
Webb is 6-5 with a 3.87 ERA, five holds and 68 strikeouts in 66 career relief appearances over two seasons with the White Sox (2013-14). He has limited left-handers to a .217 average (25-115) lifetime.
