Despite the criticism Patriots coach Bill Belichick heaped on Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker for his hit onPatriots defensive back Aqib Talib in the AFC Championship Game, Welker was not fined or disciplined by the NFL for the play, ProFootballTalk.com reported Friday.

The NFL confirmed its decision on Friday, according to the report.

Talib left the game with a knee injury as a result of the block, and Belichick called it “One of the worst plays I’ve seen.”

However, the league ruled it was a legal block.
