President Barack Obama will honor the NBA champion Golden State Warriors on Thursday at the White House.

The Warriors captured the 2014-15 NBA title with a 4-2 series victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, securing the team’s fourth championship in franchise history and first in 40 years (1974-75).

This year, the Warriors who will play at the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, own a 44-4 (.917) record. That mark equals the best record through the season’s first 48 games in NBA history (1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers).

The defending champions opened the season with 24 consecutive wins, earning the best start to a season in NBA history.
