Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was in good spirits Monday and hopes to be cleared to play after suffering a concussion during Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.

Bridgewater passed the first test as part of the NFL concussion protocol and has more steps to take before he can be cleared to play.

“I think he should be good to go,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters.

Bridgewater suffered the concussion when he took an elbow to the head from St. Louis defensive back Lamarcus Joyner while sliding on a running play.

Zimmer sharply criticized the Rams’ tactics but declined to divulge whether or not he contacted the NFL office on Monday.

After Sunday’s contest, Zimmer made a reference to St. Louis defensive coordinator Gregg Williams while expressing his displeasure.

“There’s a history there with their defensive coordinator,” Zimmer said.
