Tom Brady breaks NFL all-time completions record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady set the NFL record for all-time completions late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the visiting Buffalo Bills.

Brady connected with Mike Evans for a 20-yard gain near the sideline with 1:38 remaining in the second quarter. The completion was Brady’s 18th of the game and 7,143rd of his career to move past Drew Brees, who retired after last season.

Brady followed that up two plays later with a 1-yard plunge to give Tampa Bay a 24-3 lead. Brady completed 19 of 26 passes for 216 yards with two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing) in the first half of the game.
