Chancellor prevented tight end Rob Gronkowski from catching a potential game-tying touchdown with 11 seconds left in the game. Chancellor also forced a fumble which led to a touchdown.
Kansas City safety Eric Berry took the AFC defensive award after he returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help rally the Chiefs to a 20-17 win against the Carolina Panthers. Berry also had nine tackles, including one for a loss.
Denver rookie safety Justin Simmons was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after he blocked a potential winning extra point late in the fourth quarter that allowed teammate Will Parks to run it back for two points and lift the Broncos to the stunning 25-23 victory against the New Orleans Saints.
The NFC special teams weekly award went to Los Angeles Rams punter Johnny Hekker after he punted seven times for a 50.3 yard average in a 9-6 victory over the New York Jets. He pinned the Jets inside their 20-yard line four times, including after a 78-yard punt.
