Titans fire longtime trainer Brown

The Tennessee Titans fired long-time head athletic trainer Brad Brown, cutting ties with one of the last links to the franchise’s days as the Houston Oilers.

Brown had just begun his 28th year as the team’s head athletic trainer but was let go, Terry McCormick of Titan Insider reported Tuesday.

The Titans plan to bring in an outside candidate to replace Brown.

Brown was hired by the Oilers in 1987 after previously spending two seasons on the training staff of the Denver Broncos.

The Titans have gone through many changes since the death of owner Bud Adams. Former Oilers player and head coach Mike Munchak was fired after a 7-9 season and replaced by San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.
