Minnesota Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders will miss Wednesday night’s game in Toronto against the Raptors for personal reasons, the team announced Tuesday.

According to a report, Saunders will be away from the team for an unspecified time to be with his ailing father in Cleveland.

In Saunders’ absence, assistant Sam Mitchell will serve as acting coach.

The Timberwolves (14-52) are last in the NBA’s Northwest Division, 30 1/2 games behind the first-place Portland Trail Blazers and 11 1/2 games behind the Denver Nuggets, who are just ahead of Minnesota in the standings.
