Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love will miss six to eight weeks after breaking a bone in his right hand during a Wednesday morning workout, the team announced.
Love broke the third and fourth metacarpals on his shooting hand.
Such a timetable puts Love to return in late November, which will cost him roughly the first 13-18 games of the season.
The 24-year-old Love appeared in 55 games last season — he also missed time with a broken left hand — and averaged 26 points per game.
The Timberwolves are already without star point guard Ricky Rubio, who will miss at least the first six weeks of the season while he recovers from a torn ACL in his left knee.
