According to a report in the New York Post, Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer.

The report, also confirmed by ESPN, said the 80-year-old Sterling is suffering from prostate cancer.

Earlier this week, NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling from the league for life and fined him $2.5 million for racist comments recorded by a former mistress that were published by TMZ.

The league’s advisory/finance committee held its first meeting about Sterling on Thursday, announcing in a statement that it had unanimously agreed to move forward as expeditiously as possible on the process of forcing Sterling to relinquish ownership of the Clippers.
