Defensive end Brett Keisel signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who nabbed the veteran as other teams began showing interest.

Keisel, 35, will be in his 13th season with the Steelers. He started 12 games in 2013 and became an unrestricted free agent in March but the Steelers opted not to re-sign him until Wednesday.

The Arizona Cardinals contacted Keisel this week when defensive lineman Darnell Dockett suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The front seven got younger in the offseason, including at left end. Cam Thomas signed a two-year, $4 million contact and the Steelers drafted Notre Dame’s Stephon Tuitt in the second round.
