NFL Network reported the Steelers re-signed linebacker Larry Foote on Tuesday.
Foote was a target of multiple teams running a 3-4 defense, including the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns.
The Steelers hosted inside linebacker Dan Connor, released by the Cowboys, on Monday and could still add Connor as a backup on the inside.
Sean Spence and Lawrence Timmons are options to start, but Spence is recovering from a knee injury and might not be ready for training camp.
Foote turns 33 in June. He was drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2002 draft out of Michigan and signed with the Detroit Lions as a free agent in 2009. He returned to the Steelers in 2010 and has 711 career tackles with 23 sacks.
