Steelers put DE Geathers on IR, sign DT Okafor

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed defensive end Clifton Geathers on injured reserve Friday and signed rookie defensive tackle Joe Okafor.

Geathers was signed by the Steelers late in the 2014 season to replace injured Brett Keisel, but Geathers did not play in any games.

Okafor started his college career at Oklahoma State in 2011 before transferring to Lamar for his final three seasons. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman recorded six sacks and 28 tackles last season.
