JaVale McGee’s stay in the City of Brotherly Love did not last very long.
McGee, who was 76ers acquired prior to the Feb. 19 trade deadline from Denver in a deal that netted Philadelphia a 2015 first-round pick, will be released, according to multiple reports.
McGee will not forfeit any of his $11.2 million salary for this season or any of his $12 million salary for next season, USA Today reported.
Once he clears waivers, the 27-year-old center, can sign with any team. He will be eligible to play in the postseason because he was waived after March 1.
McGee is averaging 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds this season in only 23 games.
