Shazz’ Last-Minute Catch Saves the Green Wave

Tulane entered its game with Army with excitement, still looking ahead to a possible shot at a College Football Playoff berth. But with less than two minutes remaining, the Green Wave (5-1, 2-0) trailed the Black Knights, 17-10, and the outlook was bleak.

But that’s when the Tulane offense came to life.

First, quarterback Jake Retzlaff hit wide receiver Bryce Bohanon with a touchdown pass to knot the score. The Tulane defense forced an Army punt, giving the offense one last chance to earn the come-from-behind win.

They did just that.

With just 30 seconds left to play, Retzlaff threw for the end zone again, this time under-throwing Shazz Preston, but the throw was tipped by a Black Knight defender and the alert wide receiver brought in the bobbled ball, giving Tulane a 24-17 win, keeping them in the postseason picture.

That touchdown catch by Preston has been chosen as the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

For the game, Preston led the Green Wave with five catches for 86 yards and the winning reception. Retzlaff passed for 261 yards and two touchdowns including the deciding throw and ran for 68 yards and another score.

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”

The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.

U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
