Michael Rocco, and not Alabama transfer Phillip Sims, is listed as Virginia’s starting quarterback for the Cavaliers’ season-opener against Richmond.
Rocco was Virginia’s starter last season and threw for over 2,600 as a sophomore.
Last year, Sims lost out in the competition for the starting job at Alabama to A.J. McCarron and transferred to Virginia.
In July, the NCAA granted him a waiver to play this season for the Cavaliers, but he is not listed as the No. 1 quarterback on the depth chart released Monday.
