The Houston Texans reportedly signed wide receiver Cecil Shorts to a two-year contract on Monday.

A fourth-round pick in 2011, Shorts caught 176 passes for 2,343 yards and 12 touchdowns in four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. His best season was 2012, when he caught 55 passes for 979 yards and seven touchdowns.

Injuries have been major impediments to his career as Shorts has missed 14 games with various ailments, including a concussion and issues with his groin and hamstring.

In 13 games last season, Shorts caught 53 passes for 557 yards and one touchdown.

Shorts essentially replaces Andre Johnson on the Texans’ roster, joining a receiving corps that — aside from 2013 first-round pick DeAndre Hopkins — is very undistinguished.
