Report: Texas A&M’s Manziel, Evans to go pro

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and wide receiver Mike Evans will declare for the NFL draft after Tuesday’s Chick-Fil-A Bowl, according to NFL.com.

After a breakout 2012 season, the Aggies are 8-4 this year, including 4-4 in the SEC. Manziel was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy but could not repeat as the winner.

Manziel, a redshirt sophomore, has thrown for 3,732 yards with 33 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this year. He is ranked the No. 2 quarterback and No. 17 overall prospect by NFLDraftScout.com.

Evans, also a redshirt sophomore, has 65 catches for 1,322 yards with 12 touchdowns this season. NFLDraftScout.com ranks him the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 8 overall prospect.
