Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not expected to play Sunday against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, ESPN reported Friday.
A source told reporter Adam Schefter, “I don’t see them clearing him unless something significantly changes with the doctor.”
An official announcement by coach Mike McCarthy is expected later Friday.
Green Bay (7-6-1) is just a half-game behind the Chicago Bears (8-6) in the NFC North. The Packers visit the Bears in the regular-season finale Dec. 29.
Rodgers, recovering from a broken collarbone, has been splitting snaps with backup Matt Flynn in practice. Flynn has played the last four games.
Rodgers took part in some limited work Thursday but Flynn and Scott Tolzien took the first-team reps during 11-on-11 drills.
“It’s an organizational and a medical decision at this point,” Rodgers said. “I have a good sense of what’s going to happen.”
