Running back Trent Richardson has been a disappointment in the NFL ever since he was the No. 3 overall pick out of Alabama in the 2012 NFL Draft.

However, it appears the Baltimore Ravens are willing to give Richardson one more chance. Al.com reported Thursday that the Ravens plan to sign him soon.

Richardson rushed for 905 yards as a rookie for the Cleveland Browns but averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. He was traded to the Indianapolis Colts midway through his second season, but his per-carry average dropped to 3.0 yards for the two teams combined.

He played in 15 games the following season for the Colts, including 12 starts, but rushed for just 519 yards and 3.3 yards per attempt.

He was released before the start of the 2015 season and was picked up by Oakland. But he failed to make the Raiders’ opening-game roster.

Richardson is still just 25 years old, and Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome is an Alabama alumnus.

The Ravens were 26th in rushing in 2015 and their 3.9 yards per attempt ranked 24th in the 32-team league. Justin Forsett led the team in rushing with 641 yards.
