Report: Ravens re-sign Smith to $16 million deal

The Baltimore Ravens re-signed linebacker Daryl Smith to a four-year, $16.1 million contract on Friday, according to ESPN.

Smith, 31, had 123 tackles, five sacks, three interceptions, 19 pass breakups and two forced fumbles in his first year with the Ravens in 2013. He also returned an interception 37 yards for a game-changing touchdown in a win over the Houston Texans.

Smith played two games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 because of a sports hernia.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Smith in the second round of the 2004 draft and is the franchise’s all-time leading tackler. He averaged 103 tackles per year in 2009-11 but has not made a Pro Bowl.
