Standout LSU offensive tackle Chris Faulk is probably out for the rest of the season as a result of a knee injury, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Thursday.
LSU coach Les Miles said Faluk was injured on Wednesday, and now it appears it was a major injury that will require surgery and a long rehabilitation period, according to the Times-Picayune.
Faulk had started the previous 15 games at left tackle.
In the season opener against North Texas, Faulk played all but five snaps.
“This is really a big loss for LSU,” New Orleans-based NFL Draft analyst Mike Detillier told the Times-Picayune. “Chris Faulk is the best left tackle in the SEC, no question about it.”
Detillier said he listed Faulk before the season as the 17th best player in the country and projected him as a first-round draft pick.
