A week after being released by the Tennessee Titans, free-agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will sign a two-year contract with the Houston Texans, ESPN reported Thursday.
Fitzpatrick started nine games for the Titans last season in place of injured Jake Locker. He completed 217 of 350 passes for 14 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.
The 31-year-old veteran previously played for the St. Louis Rams, Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills, making 77 career starts since his rookie year in 2005.
The Texans are expected to select a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in May. The team also still has former starting quarterback Matt Schaub under contract, but with a $10 million cap hit, he is a candidate to be released.
