Report: Bulls to deal Randolph to Magic

The Chicago Bulls are set to trade Anthony Randolph to the Orlando Magic along with a pair of second-round picks in exchange for the rights to Milovan Rakovic, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

The trade amounts to further clearing of salary cap space for the Bulls, while the Magic will get the most favorable second-round picks in 2015 and 2016, with Chicago also owning the Portland Trail Blazers’ second-rounders the next two years.

Rakovic was the final selections of the 2007 draft and the 29 year old from Serbia is not expected to join the NBA, but including him in the deal satisfies the NBA requirement that each team receives something in a trade.

The Bulls needed to clear space in order to sign Pau Gasol and Mikola Mirotic, and Randolph is due to earn $1.825 million next season. Randolph was acquired in a draft-day deal, but Chicago also selected sharp-shooting Doug McDermott as part of the team’s offseason makeover.
