Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid said during his Monday press conference that quarterback Michael Vick has a “pretty significant concussion.”
Vick sustained the concussion during Sunday’s 38-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Reid did not rule Vick out from playing this week’s game against the Washington Redskins, but he must undergo the league’s mandated testing protocol before he can play.
Rookie Nick Foles replaced Vick after he was knocked out of the game in the second quarter. Reid said Vick’s recollection of the game was “foggy.” Vick is resting at home while in communication with head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder.
Foles will start this Sunday if Vick cannot play. Foles went 22 of 32 for 219 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Cowboys.
