Washington Redskins outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is out indefinitely following arthroscopic knee surgery.

Kerrigan, who has never missed a game, is in the final season of his rookie contract that pays him $7 million in 2015.

The surgery is not considered serious and he is expected to be at or near full strength when the Redskins report to training camp July 30.

Kerrigan will be the featured pass rusher for the Redskins’ revamped front seven. Brian Orakpo, a former first-round pick who was dogged by injuries, left via free agency to play for new Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau.
