The Baltimore Ravens signed five players to their 90-man roster Friday and waived three.
The Ravens signed linebacker Nicholas DiMarco, cornerback Dominique Franks, cornerback Aaron Ross, linebacker Austin Spitler and wide receiver Mike Willie, and waived linebacker Xavius Boyd, safety Dexter Moody and cornerback Avery Patterson.
Ross played six seasons with the New York Giants (2007-11, 2013) and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2012). He was drafted in the first round by the Giants out of Texas in 2007. In 83 NFL games (52 starts), he has 286 tackles (194 solo), 11 interceptions, 44 pass breakups and two touchdowns.
Franks spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. The fifth-round draft choice out of Oklahoma in 2010 has played 48 NFL games (four starts). He has 36 tackles (24 solo), three interceptions and nine pass breakups.
Spitler played four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was drafted out of Ohio State in the seventh round in 2010 and has played 55 NFL games with three tackles. On special teams, he has 28 tackles and one fumble recovery.
Willie spent the majority of the 2012 season on the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad after the team signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Arizona State. He did not play in the NFL last season.
DiMarco originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent in May out of William Penn.
